The jail in Rohtak, Haryana is being guarded by over thousands of soldiers, where the self-styled Godman is lodged. The “Guru of bling” as he is called is facing the final hearing for charges committed in 2002, for which the quantum of sentence shall be announced soon.

Judge Jagdeep Singh has arrived on a government helicopter to sentence the “bling spiritual guru” Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh. The judge on Friday found Ram Rahim guilty of raping two women followers in 2002.

If the situation turns extreme post the sentence, the Army is on stand by and can enter the town, if need be.

Over a lakh of Ram Rahim’s followers had gathered in Panchkula, where the judge delivered his verdict in the rape case, and they went berserk after he was convicted. 38 people have died in the violence and nearly 200 were injured.

This time around, more preventive measures have been taken so that no supporters have been creep in near the Rohtak prison or anywhere around the vicinity of the city or prison.

Meanwhile, the arguments have almost come to an end in the hearing, and the quantum will be announced very soon. Ram Rahim plays the “social worker” card in his defence and begs for leniency to judge Jagdeep Singh.

More updates to follow, stay tuned.
