In a latest event, Rahul Gandhi’s convoy was attacked in Gujarat today at Banaskantha. Congress alleges that, BJP workers were behind the deed.

“This is a dastardly attack. Do they think they can silence the opposition, they can cow down anybody with violence?” said the party’s Abhishek Manu Singhvi.

The Congress said Rahul Gandhi was surveying flood hit areas when his car was attacked with cement bricks, but he escaped unhurt.

“The car was damaged, a window was shattered, a security man was hurt,” Mr Singhvi said.

Banaskantha, one of the areas in Gujarat worst affected by the flood, has six Congress lawmakers but they are at a resort in Bengaluru, away from the drama of Rajya Sabha polls.
