Mumbai: In its biggest-ever drugs seizure in 2017, the Officers of Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) Mumbai customs has seized a huge haul of banned narcotic drugs of 4.75 kilograms worths Rs 5 crore from the Mumbai airport on Wednesday in the evening.
According to the officials, a passengers who hold an Indian Passport has been identified as Rabi Khan Abdullah was departing to Kuala Lumpur when the official doubt suspicious and asked him to wait. On checking his luggage offocials found drugs concealed in Roti makers. On interrogation the accused revealed that he was in possession of 2,680 grams of metamphetamine and 2,073 grams of ephedrine.
Speaking with the officials he said, ‘The drugs were stored under the aluminium foil plastic pocket in the roti maker’. we have seized the drugs under the provision of NDPD Act, 1985′.
The accused have been arrested and booked under relevant section. He will be produced before the court. Further the investigation is going on.
