BJP wants to drive actual change in Maharashtra by facing it problems head on.

The Maharashtra Bharatiya Janta Party has applauded Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for keeping the interests of farmers above politics.

On Thursday the CM had led an all-party delegation to meet Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitely in New Delhi to discuss the problems being faced by the District Central Cooperative Banks (DCCBs).

The spokesperson on BJP Maharashtra Shweta Shalini said that it was considerate of the honourable CM to raise the issue causing hardships to farmers and impacting the rural economy.

“The CM is aware and concerned about the farmers in Maharashtra and he has proved that development and bringing in better facilities for its citizens is his primary motive. BJP wants to drive actual change and for this we are facingreal issues and not running away from them,” said Shweta Shaini.

The chief minister has apprised Jaitley about the vast network of the DCCBs and how the agriculture sector and farmers were dependent on it to carry out monetary transactions. The RBI has put a ban on the DCCBs against allowing deposits of the old Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 notes. The RBI fears the DCCBs will be used as a safe haven by individuals and companies to park their unaccounted funds in the wake of the demonetization.
