Mumbai: A woman fighting for the justice for three years has finally got relief, after Vikroli Court orders inquiry against the three cops of Nehru Nagar Police Station. The three cops were involved for harrassing, abusing and illegally occupying woman’s flat and selling to another person. The Nehru Nagar Police Station has registered an FIR against the three cops including one woman sub-inspector.
According to the police, the three accused has been identified as police inspector Vilas Shinde, police sub-inspector Manisha Patil and constable Arun Bhalerao.
According to the victim, the woman lives in Virar and works in a private firm. In the year 2014, the woman along with her husband buyed a flat in Chembur. They both wanted to settled their life before stepping into new house. The duo decided to rent the house and gets some money. The tenure which was singn for 11 months was got over after which the flat was rented to one of their relative.
The woman alleged that in the month of Januray 2015, her house agent informed that someone else has been living in her flat. The woman immediately rushed to her Chembur flat and was shocked noticed that her husband’s brother Ram Jaiswal and his friend Priya Chauhan in the flat. When the woman asked why they are here, Jaiswal said that he had bought this flat from Inspector Shinde. The woman immediately called her husband and both approached the Nehru Nagar Police Station.
When the woman reached the police station to registered the case. The police were not ready to registered the case. The woman and her husband met Shinde, showed him the flats documents, but the Inspector instead asked them to stay away from the flat or else he will arrest and booked them under false case.
When the woman said it is her flat, how can police misuse the power of Khaki, he called sub-Inspector Manisha Patil and Bhalerao and asked them to put us behind bars. Both woman and her husband were kept in the lock-up and released them on next day, threatening to book and arrest if they dare to visit Chembur’s flat.
When the woman tried to contact higher authorities, On March 31, Shinde booked the victim under various sections of IPC and arrested her. However, she was granted bail the next day. Meanwhile she was on bail, the court had asked her to visit the police station for signing the register.
Whenever the woman goes to the police station for signing the register, Constable Bhalerao used to harrass her by calling her on phone. He used to harrass her by saying her “Tum bahot achi ho, lagti nahi ho do bacche ki maa”. Woman then decided to file a civil suit in Court. It took three years after Vikhroli court ordered to conduct the inquiry against the three cops undeer sections CRPC section 156 (3).
When Mumbai Cutting tried contacting the police about the case, they remain unavailable for the comment.
The case has been registered against the three cops under sections 342 (wrongful confinement), 354 (A)(B)(C)(D) (sexual harassment), 448 (house-trespass), 452, 457, 509, 120(B) (criminal conspiracy) and 114 (abettor present when offence is committed) of Indian Penal Code.
