Palghar: In yet another breakdown, Palghar Crime Branch unit have arrested four under pretext of looting people displaying themselves as courier boys. Cops have also claim of seizing the tempo used while conducting the crime.
As per the complaint received by the local sleuths, on January 23, Complainant, Nisha Loankar (32) was along at her resident, Vinayak Apartment, Virar west, when she heard door bell ring. On asking the person identified himself as courier man came to deliver a parcel. “When Nisha opened the door the accused pushed her inside the room and close her mouth and asked her to keep quite. Later three other accompanied him inside and looted Nisha on gun point”, said a police officer attached to this case. Leading to which a case under section 395, 452 of IPC r/w section 3 and 25 of arms act was registered.
Analyzing the increase in crime taking place under Arnala jurisdiction, Superintendent of police Sharda Raut formed team of police officers led by Police inspector Yogesh Kumar and Ashok Honmane who started investigating the incident. Later during investigation Police inspector Honamne got a tip-off about the accused been hiding at Kandivali. A trap was later and four of them were arrested along with the tempo. “Acting on the tip-off from our confidential sources we laid a trap near Kandivali and arrested the accused. We also seized the tempo bearing number MH-02-CE-4968 which they used in crime. The arrested accused are identified as, Farhan kamrudin aka Sonu (24), Imtiyaz Chaudhary (30), Satish Shetty (45), Sarfaraz aka Aamir khan (25) repectively” said PI Honmane.
‘The arrested accused had confessed their crime. We are investigating the case and are finding out where there are other cases against them. We have produced them before the court and have remanded to police custody for further investigation’, he added.
