Rape case has become an important topic of discussion as every alternate day a rape case get registered in police register. But now it seems that apart from just registering the case, police are investigating it harder and providing relief for the survivor. A 33 year-old man from Kurje village of Vikramgadh taluka in Palghar District has been arrested for allegedly raping college girl repeatedly, police said on Tuesday. The accused was produced before the court, and remanded in the police custody.

According to the police, the accused who has been identified as Anand Arun Dukte is married man, used to stalk a college girl a resident of Balapur in Vikramgadh, frequently when she leaves from college. He even follow her when she leaves from college to home.

Last year, when the victim left from home for college, the accused forcibly took her in a car to different location including farm house and raped her inside the vehicle. He then threatened her to kill if she disclose with any one. The accused then raped her one or the other day by threatening her to kill. When the abuse continued for the months, the girl decided to approach the police and registered the case at Vikramgadh police Station.

On Sunday, the 21 year-old victim registered a case against the accused following to which a team of police arrested him on Tuesday.

The accused has been booked under sections 366,376 (2)(n), and 506 of the Indian Penal Code and under sections (3)(1)(12) of the Atrocities Act of 1989. He will be produced  in Jawhar Court today.
