In a shocking incident, a 12-year body found inside a suitcase near Kurla Terminal on Sunday evening at around 8.00 pm. The body of a boy was wrapped in a blanket with his hands and legs tied, said police officials. An unidentified man has been caught in two CCTV (Close-Circuit Television) cameras near Kurla Terminus, carrying the red suitcase. Police are investigating to identify the man.
According to the police, the man living in slums alerted the police about the red suitcase dumped near station. The police arrived at the spot and was shocked to see body wrapped in a blanket with his hands and legs tied. Police took the body into its custody and sent the body for post-mortem.
When police checked the CCTV footage installed near the station, an unidentified man with a red suitcase was seen outside Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at around 7.05 pm. Police suspect the killer have got off the platform and walked on a road near slums, where he allegedly dumped the suitcase.
Speaking to Mumbai Cutting, a police official from Tilak Nagar police station said, ‘there is a marks on boy’s neck of which we suspect the murder took place earlier on Sunday. We are scrutinising footage from other CCTV cameras in the area to nab the man. We have sent the image of man at all police station. We are also making inquires about the missing case of child registered in police station.’
Police have registered the case under relevant section of IPC. Further the investigation is going on.
